With each passing game, the Fordham football team makes more history.
The Rams’ 34-12 win at Georgetown on Saturday afternoon gave them their first 7-0 start since 1930.
Quarterback Michael Nebrich, the star redshirt sophomore, had arguably his best game of the season. He completed his first 20 passes — a Patriot League record for most consecutive completions — and finished the afternoon 35 of 45 on passing attempts for 405 yards and one touchdown. He added 51 yards rushing on 12 carries with a score.
Junior receiver Tebucky Jones, Jr. had a breakout game. He caught 12 passes for 182 yards, both season-highs.
Fordham now turns its attention to Yale. The Rams and Bulldogs face each other at the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Conn. next weekend.
Yale opened the season 3-0 and was on the cusp of the top 25 in last week’s polls thanks to an impressive road victory over a strong Cal Poly team. But the Bulldogs were upended Saturday at Dartmouth.
Fordham and Yale last met in 2010, with the Bulldogs winning, 7-6. Fordham’s last victory in the series came in 2008.
